Bookseller
This is a part-time position starting at approximately 16 hours per week, with the potential to increase to 20 hours.
Pay: $15/hour
We’re an independent bookstore specializing in fantasy, thrillers, and the occasional romance, with a strong focus on creating a welcoming space for our Bookish Friends. We’re looking for someone who loves connecting with readers, is comfortable working in a retail environment, and is excited to help customers find their next favorite book.
What You’ll Do
As a Bookseller, you’ll help with the day-to-day experience inside the store, including:

Welcoming and assisting customers

Making thoughtful book recommendations

Operating the point-of-sale system and processing purchases

Restocking, organizing, and maintaining displays

Receiving and shelving inventory

Keeping the store clean, organized, and welcoming

Learning our inventory and staying familiar with new releases

Supporting author signings, Bookish Nights, and other store events when needed

Helping create the kind of experience that keeps our Bookish Friends coming back
Who We’re Looking For
You might be a great fit if you:

Are friendly, reliable, and comfortable talking with customers

Have strong communication and organizational skills

Can work independently while also being part of a small team

Pay attention to details and take initiative

Are comfortable learning new systems and processes

Have an interest in fantasy, thrillers, romance, or books in general

Are available to work weekends and some evenings
-
Are comfortable being on your feet and completing normal retail tasks throughout a shift
Previous bookstore or retail experience is a plus, but it isn’t required. Knowing every fantasy series ever written isn’t required either. We care more about finding someone who is dependable, willing to learn, and excited to take care of our community.

Bookish Cafe Orlando is an independent bookstore located in Clermont, Florida. What started as a community built around books and events has grown into a physical space dedicated to bringing readers together.
Beyond our shelves, we host book clubs, author signings, themed Bookish Nights, markets, and other experiences designed to make reading feel a little more social.
